Henry Allovio, Jr., CPA
Retired Partner
McGladrey & Pullen

Henry was born and raised in Farmington, Illinois. He married Martha Ann Gingerich and has two sons and seven grandchildren.

He earned a BA degree in Accounting and Finance from Brown Business College, and in 1957 became a Certified Public Accountant beginning a 40-year career in public accounting.

Henry retired May 1, 1995 from McGladrey and Pullen, LLP and at that time was the founding director of the McGladrey Network. The McGladrey Network is among the first and is the largest network of independent accounting firms affiliated with a national CPA firm.

He has served and currently serves on numerous boards. He has been a member of the Proctor Health Care Foundation Board since 1983.

Christopher Atkinson, CPA
Senior Manager
Clifton Gunderson

Chris is a Senior Manager at Clifton Gunderson LLP and a Certified Public Accountant in Illinois. He specializes in auditing and accounting services, consulting, mergers and acquisitions.

Chris’ areas of focus include in manufacturing, construction, not-for-profits, and wholesale/distribution. He is affiliated with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois CPA Society.

His service to the community includes the Economic Development Council Global Trade Strategy Group and the Family House.

He earned his Bachelor of Science degree with a major in accounting from Bluffton University in 1996.

Craig J. Bertrand
General Manager, Peoria Division
Prairie Farms Dairy, Inc.

Craig J. Bertrand was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin. He moved to Peoria in 1975 to work for Prairie Farms Dairy Inc. Craig currently serves as the General Manager of Prairie Farms Dairy Peoria Division.

Craig attended Northwest Technical Institute and received his BA in Marketing from the University of Wisconsin.

He is involved with the community serving on the YMCA Board of Directors, Crittenton Center Board of Directors, as a member of the Sponsorship Committee for Boys IHSA Basketball and the Rotary Club of Peoria-North. Craig is a former director of the Peoria Jaycees.

Craig also supports Bradley University, Lakeview Museum, St. Jude, WTVP, the Salvation Army, the Boy’s and Girls Club, and the Heart of Illinois Hospitality Association.

In addition to serving on the Proctor Health Care Foundation Board of Trustees, Craig is a member of the Proctor Hospital Board Planning and Business Development Committee.

Craig is a widowed father of two girls, Sasha and Kala.

Brian Buralli
Director of Marketing
Cullinan Properties, Ltd.

Brian is responsible for all corporate and development-related marketing communications for Cullinan Properties, Ltd., a national full-service real estate firm headquartered in Peoria. He has over 25 years experience in marketing communications and owned his own firm in the past.

Brian graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, IL in 1982 with a B.A. in Music Theory and Composition. He is actively involved as a volunteer for community-based organizations such as Big Brothers Big Sisters, Junior Achievement, American Red Cross, Peoria Youth Hockey Association and a number of other organizations. He has chaired a number of signature fund raising events including March of Dimes Chocolate Fantasy and has helped initiate new events in the Peoria-area including the Junior Achievement Business Hall of Fame, Rock N Roll Up Your Sleeve and Peoria-Area Festival of Trees.

Brian and his wife Maureen live in Peoria in an 1876 Queen Anne style home which they have been restoring for a number of years. In his free time, Brian enjoys cooking, bike riding, home restoration and playing in Mouse’s Lair – a band he and three friends formed a few years ago.

Matthew T. Griffith has been named by the Consumers’ Research Council of America as one of the Top Financial Planners in the Country for both 2008 and 2009. Matthew is a Certified Financial Planner ™, CFP® and a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor, CRPC®.

He originally joined Merrill Lynch Wealth Management in the Washington, D.C. office in 1999 after graduating from Penn State University. While in the Washington, D.C. office, Matthew worked in one of the premiere financial environments in the world. After eight years in Washington, he transferred to the Peoria office in 2007 and joined the Benson, Griffith, Lavin & Young Advisors.

Matthew and his wife Angie reside in Peoria and are active in the Peoria community. Matthew serves on the Board of Governors for the Creve Coeur Club and is on the board for the Rehabilitation Foundation of IPMR. He has also served on committees for Easter Seals, The Peoria Art Guild, The American Cancer Society and the Can-Do Foundation.

Matthew J. Mamer

Matt graduated from Illinois State University in 1995 with a degree in marketing. He joined CEFCU in 1995 and has held various positions in branch management, consumer lending and commercial lending prior to becoming Vice President of Business Services in 2007. He completed his MBA from Bradley University in 2003.

Matt lives in East Peoria with his wife, Heidi, and their two children.

In addition to serving on the board of trustees for the Proctor Health Care Foundation, currently as Chairman, Matt serves on the McLean County CDC Advisory Board, East Peoria Police Pension Board, and Easter Seals Clay Shoot Board.

Robert Meister, M.D.
Proctor Medical Group

Dr. Meister is most proud of his role as husband to an angel, father to a wonderful son and daughter, and grandfather to two most perfect and precious grandsons.

Professionally, he is a graduate of the University of Miami Medical School and OSF Medical center Internal Medicine Residency Program. As a board certified Internal Medicine physician, and member of the Proctor Medical Group, it is his privilege to serve as the primary care physician for many families in the Central Illinois region.

Aside from attending the needs of his patients, he has served as an Associate Clinical Instructor of Medicine for the University of Illinois at Peoria, and as a Senator for the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Ketra A. Mytich

Ketra A. Mytich has been a practicing attorney for more than thirty years. She received her Juris Doctorate from Marquette University and her bachelor’s degree from St. Louis University. She is licensed to practice law in Illinois and Wisconsin and the United States Supreme Court

Ms. Mytich focuses her practice in the field of estate planning, charitable giving, post-death estate administration and business succession planning. She educates her clients in a comprehensive and caring manner so that they are comfortable with the vital decisions they are making for themselves and their loved ones. Ms. Mytich’s goal is to provide committed service that helps her clients achieve their present and long term goals for themselves, their loved ones, and their communities.

Ms. Mytich believes in giving back to her community. She currently serves on the Proctor Hospital Foundation Board, the Public Building Commission of Peoria, The Peoria Symphony Orchestra Board, YWCA and the National Association of Women Business Owners. She has been active in the American Cancer Society, Peoria City Beautiful, WTVP Channel 47 Public Television and the Planned Giving Advisory Committee of the American Heart Association.

As part of her commitment to education she is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, Peoria County Bar Association, Central Illinois Estate Planning Counsel, National Network of Estate Planning Attorneys (NNEPA), the Illinois/Wisconsin Forum of the NNEPA; and a co-founding fellow of EPICOR (Estate Planning Institute of Collaborative Resources), the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, Inc.

John Remsen

Living in the Peoria area for over ten years, John has been involved in banking and financial services for most of his career. 

In addition to the Proctor Foundation, John currently serves on the board of the Peoria Symphony Orchestra. He is a past board member of the ICC Foundation. John is a member of the Peoria Rotary Club.

A graduate of Dartmouth College, he also holds an MBA from DePaul University, and is a CTFA.

John and his wife Garland live in Peoria. He has three grown sons, two daughters-in-law, and four grandchildren

John J. Waugh

John Joseph Waugh was born and raised in Peoria and is one of six brothers and sisters. He is a 1977 graduate of Bergan High School and received his BA in Marketing from Southern Illinois University in 1982.

John joined Waugh Foods, Inc. in 1982, assuming the role of President in 1999.

John is currently a member of the Boys and Girls Club of Peoria Board of Directors. He has served his community and profession through board membership with the National Frozen Foods Club, Bradley University Braves Club, and the Progressive Group Alliance Distributor.

John and his wife Darcy have one daughter, Natalie. They are all members of the St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church. His interests include golfing, gardening, Bradley basketball, Chicago Bears Football, bicycling, walking, scuba diving, traveling and listening to music.

David L. Wentworth II

David is a partner in Hasselberg, Williams, Grebe, Snodgrass & Birdsall. David attended Albion College and received his Bachelor’s degree in 1989, and obtained his law degree from the University of Detroit School of Law in 1993.

David is a member of the Peoria County, Illinois State and American Bar Associations and the State Bar of Michigan. David is authorized to practice in the United States District Courts for the Northern, Central and Southern Districts of Illinois. He was a member of the Moot Court Board of Directors and University of Detroit Law Review, 1992-93. David is currently a Member of the Commercial Banking & Bankruptcy Section Council of the Illinois State Bar Association, and a Fellow in the Illinois Bar Foundation. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Community Workshop & Training Center, and the Proctor Health Care Foundation. David is active in his neighborhood association, the Moss-Bradley Residential Association.

David is married to Elizabeth Jensen. They reside in Peoria with their sons, William and Charlie.

Paul E. Macek
President & Chief Executive Officer
Proctor Health Care, Inc.

Paul has an extensive and impressive background in health care. Prior to joining Proctor Hospital Paul served seven years as the President of Christian Hospitals affiliated with Barnes Jewish Christian (BJC) HealthCare in St. Louis. During this time he led the financial turnaround of 467 bed Christian Northeast and 220 bed Christian Northwest hospitals; aligned 42 physicians with the hospitals through employment and co management agreements; and implemented process improvement practices which significantly increased patient satisfaction and quality metrics. Presently he is an adjunct professor in the Department of Public Administration & Analysis at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.

A native of Lincoln, Nebraska Macek received his Master’s Degree in Hospital Administration from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis and his BA in Business and Hospital Administration from Concordia College, Moorhead Minnesota. He is also a graduate of the Boeing Executive Leadership Program.

Paul is a member of the Peoria Rotary Club, and serves on the board of directors for Quality Quest for Health and the Creve Coeur Club Board of Governors.

Paul is married; he and his wife Kathryn have two sons, John Paul and Steven.

Laura L. Schoon

Proctor Health Care Foundation

Laura joined the Proctor Health Care Foundation in March 2007 and has been a fundraising professional since 1991. She received her Bachelors of Arts Degree in Communication, Cum Laude, from the University of Illinois.

Laura is a member of the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy, where she serves as the Regional Communication Chair for Midwest Region and is the co-chair for the 2010 Midwest and Mid-Atlantic Regional Conference newcomer’s reception. She is also a member of the Central Illinois Planned Giving Council, Rotary Club of Peoria-North, and Women In Leadership.

She is a 40 Leaders Under Forty award winner, Class of 1999, was named a Paul Harris Fellow by the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International, and a Women in Management National Charlotte Danstrom award recipient in the Not-for-Profit category. In 2009, Laura received the Commander’s Award for Public Service from the U.S. Department of the Army.

Laura resides in Pekin and has a daughter, Jessica, and son, Tyler.
